DAVID SIMON BAKER is a gifted guitarist and producer/engineer.  He first began studying music with Neal Harris in San Rafael, then with Paul Smith and Martin Fricke at the College of Marin.  Dave then went on to U.C. Santa Barbara and began focusing on Music Composition.  While at UCSB, David began his engineering career by working for the Associated Students Program Board, providing live sound engineering for many campus concerts and lectures.  He also studied at Kerr Hall Studios, where he expanded his skills doing scoring work for film.

After that, his band Jimmy 2 Times, was signed to an independent record label and had the opportunity to work with the production/ engineering team, Youth Engine.  The forthcoming album was recorded at The Plant Studios in Sausalito, CA.  Through that experience, Dave further refined his production and engineering skills.  The next move was to build his own project studio and begin recording independent artists.

In 1996, Dave realized that he had outgrown his project studio and needed access to a world-class recording studio.  This marked the beginning of David's association with Ari Rios and Laughing Tiger Productions.  Since that time, he has been a primary contributor to the growth and success of Laughing Tiger.  While there, he worked with an impressive and diverse array of artists, engineers and producers in a variety of styles.

The market and technology being what they are now, the smaller studio has come back into it's own.  So, of course, David maintains his own production and mix facility called Studio Noche where he does a majority of his music production and mixing.
